Q. I need to search literature in a systematic way, what does this mean?

Answer

Systematic searching involves knowing the inclusion / exclusion criteria for study inclusion, knowing where to look (eg, sources of published and unpublished data), and knowing how to search effectively

Steps to a Systematic Review
  1. Formulate a question.
  2. Develop protocol.
  3. Conduct search.
  4. Select studies and assess study quality.
  5. Extract data and analyze/summarize and synthesize relevant studies.
  6. Interpret results.
