Q. Can I print or download E-books I find on the catalogue?

Answer

The Library buys E-books from different suppliers so depending on the supplier the amount you can print or download may vary.  Restrictions on printing are normally put in place to protect the rights of the authors or publishers of the book.  The two main E-book platforms used by the Library are MyiLibrary and VLE Books.

MyiLibrary

Printing is restricted.  When you click-on the print icon you will be advised on what percentage (%) of that particular E-book can be printed and how many pages this amounts to.  E-books are not available to download.

VLE books

As with MyiLibrary, printing is restricted – when printing a message will appear letting you know how many pages you can print.  Downloading is currently switched off but we hope to make this option available to students in due course.

If there is a technical problem when you try to access an E-book please contact either the Library Help Desk Tel: 020 7815 6607 or email LLRejnls@lsbu.ac.uk
