Q. Spotting suspicious emails: That come from a known contact
It can be difficult to recognise fake or phishing emails when they appear to come from someone in the same organisation. The email may seem to come from someone you know such as a lecturer or fellow student. Or it may come from a familiar organisation, this is known as ‘spoofing’.
If you are not expecting the email and the content seems unusual, treat it as a suspicious communication. Do not open any attachments or click on any links as this could compromise your account.
If you’re suspicious about the authenticity of an email you receive to your LSBU email account, please delete the email and contact Student IT Support at email@example.com or call us on 020 7815 6678.
If you think your password has been compromised, reset your password immediately and contact Student IT Support afterwards.
